DATES FOR HOT DOCS 2008 FESTIVAL AND CONFERENCE ANNOUNCED
Mark your calendars! The 15th anniversary edition of Hot Docs is set to take place April 17 - 27, 2008.

After a record-setting year which saw attendance leap by an astounding 33%, plans are already under way for next year's Festival and Conference. Special programming announcements will be made this summer and film submissions will be accepted beginning in September. The Toronto Documentary Forum, which returns for its 9th annual edition, will begin accepting applications for project presentation slots in November.

FRENCH FILM FESTIVAL AT THE RIDGE THEATRE 
Vive le Cinéma Français 

Over a ten week period we are showcasing five of the best films to come out of France in the past two years. With top class directors, all-star casts, and inspiring subject matters this festival is sure to be a highlight within the Vancouver community.

Paris, Je T'Aime - June 1 to June 14
Daily at: 4:00, 7:00, 9:30 plus Sat. & Sun 1:15 (no Sun. June 10, 4:00)
(120 minutes) In French with subtitles
A multi-layered tribute to the city of romance, this film is a compilation of 18 stories that explore the various faucets of love and relationships in the different quarters of modern day Paris.

La Vie en Rose – June 15th to June 28th
Daily at: 4:00, 7:00, 9:45 plus Sat. & Sun 1:00
(140 minutes) In French with subtitles
A fascinating biopic that explores the tumultuous life of infamous French cabaret singer, Edith Piaf whose life was a constant struggle to sing and survive, to live and to love.

The Valet (La Doublure) – June 29th to July 12

A hilarious comedy that tells the story of a poor parking valet that hits the jackpot when a billionaire foists his mistress upon him in order to avoid a divorce from his wife.

VICTORIA FILM FESTIVAL 
We just wanted to let you know that the Victoria Film Festival has opened its Call for Entries for 2008:

Earlybird Postmark Deadline = September 1st, 2007
Regular Postmark Deadline = October 1st, 2007


For 10 days between February 1st - 10th, 2008 the Victoria Film Festival will be screening over 140 films from around the world. We screen narratives, animations, documentaries, student and experimental films of any length.
