British Columbia Film Information Update for June 29, 2007:

British Columbia Film announces the following event:

THE MONEY CHAIN GANG - A NMBC Marquee Series Event
Abstract: Money - Your business needs it. These people have it. Learn the in and outs of creating and executing sound financial strategies from start up to exit.
Event Time: July 10th. Registration begins at 8:45am; Presentations begin at 9:15am
Location: Vancity Theatre at the Vancouver International Film Centre, 1181 Seymour Street, Vancouver

British Columbia Film Information Update for June 25, 2007:

1) Passport to Markets site announced:
Asian Film Market at the Pusan Film Festival (Pusan, Korea): October 8 – 11, 2007

The Asian Film Market was introduced in 2006 to create a total film market serving all aspects of film business in Asia: sales offices, market screenings, buyer services, production and co-production services, and financing tools and events. There will be space for 150 Sales Offices and 200 Market Screenings. The Market will hold special events and panels including "Star Summit Asia," a forum of Asia's leading actors and talent agencies for producers and distributors to meet. The market is held in conjunction with the Pusan Film Festival.

Application Deadline to British Columbia Film: 5pm Friday July 6, 2007
Early Bird Registration Deadline: July 15, 2007

2) Passport to Markets site announced:
Pusan Promotional Plan (Pusan, Korea): October 8 – 11, 2007
Similar to the Mannheim Meetings or Strategic Partners, the Pusan Promotional Plan (PPP) provides a unique forum of intimate and tailored business meetings for projects suitable to Asian co-production. It is a pre-market for Asian or Asian influenced films where upcoming projects can find potential co-production or co-financing partners. Since 2006, The PPP has accepted submissions from non-Asian projects. The PPP is held in conjunction with the Pusan Film Festival.

3) Passport to Markets site announced:
Strategic Partners International Co-Production Conference (Halifax, Nova Scotia): September 14-16, 2007

Introduced in 1998 as Canada’s first ever conference focused on co-production, Strategic Partners targets a different region each year during the Atlantic Film Festival in Halifax, Nova Scotia. This year’s conference will focus on co-productions between Canada, France, the UK and the US. Three days of seminars, workshops and one-on-one meetings will bring together producers, financiers, distributors and broadcasters from each of these five countries.
