The New York Film Festival (NYFF) has a tradition of showing the newest and most important cinematic works by directors from around the world. The 17-day Festival is an unparalleled showcase of inspiring and provocative cinema by emerging talents and first-rank international artists whose films are often recognized as contemporary classics. The Festival is highly competitive with an average of 28 feature films and 12 shorts films selected each year. Views from the Avant-Garde is a special event of the NYFF which premieres non-narrative, experimental film and video.

Telefilm Canada is currently accepting entries for the Canadian Selection Screenings in Montreal for the 58th INTERNATIONALE FILMFESTSPIELE BERLIN (BERLINALE).

The INTERNATIONALE FILMFESTSPIELE BERLIN (BERLINALE), one of the most important competitive festival in the world with Cannes and Venice, presents around 350 films every year, the vast majority of which are world or European premieres. More than 19,000 accredited guests from 120 countries – including 3,800 journalists – attended the festival in 2007.
During the screenings in Montreal, the Festival’s selectors will only be considering feature-length films only for four different sections of the festival, each with its own unique profile: Official Competition, Panorama, Generation, and the International Forum of New Cinema.
The document "Information and registration procedure" outlines the Festival’s sections open to Canadian productions and their eligibility requirements. Detailed information is also provided on the registration process (including the entry form) via Telefilm Canada.

At MIPCOM 2006, 12,509 industry professionals from 98 countries and more than 3,847 buyers attended the market.
Telefilm Canada, under the Canada Pavilion umbrella, will be organizing and coordinating the participation of Canadian companies at the 2007 edition of MIPCOM.
