DROP IN COMEDY WORKSHOP SERIES
for Gay, Lesbian, Bi-Sexual and Transgender People
Bob Loblaw Queer Comedy Troupe is proud to present a four part series of improvisational comedy workshops specifically designed for the queer community. These workshops are designed for professional entertainers or those who just want to explore their creative side.
The idea is to create a fun and supportive environment that allows gay men and women to explore their spontaneous nature. Improvisation is a great way to strengthen and develop teamwork, communication, creativity and innovation, manage the unexpected and meet change rapidly. It's also a lot of fun.
The workshops were designed with three main goals:
1) To allow members of the GLBT community a unique opportunity to play
2) To provide a forum for professional entertainers to acquire new skills
3) To help find new potential company members for Bob Loblaw Queer Comedy Troupe
Over the four weeks participants will learn about character work, techniques, story telling skills and spontaneous creative thinking. Clowning and improvisation exercises will be used as will many popular improv games.
The classes will be designed and taught by Bob Loblaw Queer Comedy Troupe member David C. Jones. David recently won the Georgia Straight's Reader's Poll for the Best Comedian in Vancouver. He has taught comedy around the world and his classes have been called "an inspiring combination of gentleness, hilarity and challenge" by a former student.
