Whistler Film Festival Announces Call for Submissions NEW 
Over $42,000 in cash prizes available to filmmakers
The Whistler Film Festival is seeking submissions for its seventh annual edition, which runs from November 29 to December 2, 2007. Canadian and International filmmakers are invited to submit by the following deadlines: June 29 for early film submissions; July 13 for short films; August 10 for feature films. The festival is also extending the deadline for B.C. filmmakers to submit treatments or scripts for Whistler Stories, the festival’s short film commission competition, to April 13, 2007. DOC TALK returns to Whistler NEW 
The Whistler Film Festival is excited to announce the return of DOC TALK @ Whistler, a unique conference and pitch forum that showcases the Western Canadian documentary production community to broadcasters from around the world and provides producers the opportunity to pitch projects to leading Canadian and International commissioning editors, broadcasters and distributors for feedback, current market advice and potential partnership. DOC TALK @ Whistler is a joint initiative between the Whistler Film Festival and the BC Chapter of the Documentary Organization of Canada (DOC-BC), and will take place November 28 to 29, 2007 as part of the Whistler Filmmaker Forum. Application details for the signature event - Pitch Fest West, will be announced this summer.

Go West Project Lab
The Whistler Film Festival and the Canadian Film Centre have partnered to create the Go West Project Lab, an intensive program where six selected Western Canadian producers will meet with senior producers, financiers and sales agents in Whistler to help bring their projects from the written page to the movie screen. Details will be announced shortly.

Reel Alternatives Wraps Series in March With Top Canadian Indies
Two Canadian films wrap the Whistler Film Festival’s winter/spring independent film series with intense subject matter: UNNATURAL & ACCIDENTAL on APRIL 11 (7:00pm & 9:00pm) and one of Canada’s Top Ten MONKEY WARFARE on APRIL 25 (7:00pm & 9:00pm). Tickets and series memberships are available on show day at Village 8 Cinemas.
